What is mediation?

Mediation is a meeting between two or more parties who have a disagreement, and is led by a facilitator.

It has a structure and uses strategies designed to lead to a desired outcome: specifically, that the disputants will reach a mutually agreed upon resolution to their disagreement.

It is the mediator's job to guide the process, but not to present alternatives or to attempt to persuade the parties. This requires skill and dedication to the craft — to do it well.

Mediation results in a mutually agreed upon outcome around 85% of the time.

YOUR MEDIATOR

Mark McClure is a profesional listener and meeting facilitator. He is known, first of all, for his approachability and calming presence. In mediation meetings, Mark provides a safe, structured  environment that is most conducive for reaching a desirable outcome.

More

Mark honed his meeting facilitation skills leading church and business meetings.

He developed negotiating and group management skills working in inner-city high schools and with special needs elementary and junior high students. Adults can be stubborn and recalcitrant, but gaining compliance from special needs students and emotionally disturbed “GenEd” students requires the patience of Job and not a small amount of finesse.

Mark's primary service area is the DFW metroplex, however he can work anywhere in Texas.
